About Know Peace LLC

Empowering growth, recovery, and independence.

Know Peace LLC provides compassionate, person-centered support services designed to help individuals build stability, strengthen coping skills, and achieve greater independence in their daily lives. We meet people where they are and walk alongside them as they work toward meaningful change.

We specialize in four core areas of service:

Services

Peer Support Services

Healing happens in connection. Our peer support services are rooted in lived experience, empathy, and mutual respect. We walk alongside people as they navigate mental health, recovery, justice involvement, reintegration, and other life transitions.

Together, we focus on:

  • Listening with care so every voice is heard
  • Building skills that strengthen resilience and independence
  • Encouraging growth to spark hope and confidence

Substance Abuse Counselor in Training (SAC-IT)

Guided, recovery-focused support for individuals overcoming substance use challenges. Services include relapse prevention planning, exploring triggers, strengthening recovery skills, connecting to sober supports, and promoting long-term stability with clinician supervision.

Independent Living Skills Training

Personalized training to build practical skills for confident, independent living. Areas include:

  • Budgeting and money management
  • Cooking, cleaning, and household organization
  • Social skills and communication
  • Appointment and schedule management
  • Community navigation and transportation
  • Building healthy personal and peer relationships
  • Employment readiness and daily living routines

Private Pay Services

For individuals not enrolled in IRIS or CCS—or seeking supplemental support—Know Peace LLC offers flexible private pay options. Clients receive the same high-quality, individualized services with customizable scheduling and service intensity.

Who we serve: Western Wisconsin IRIS participants, CCS participants, and private pay clients seeking peer support, recovery coaching, or skills training.

Our Mission

At Know Peace LLC, our mission is simple: We meet people where they are at, but we don't leave them there! We support individuals in becoming the best version of themselves—one step, one skill, and one day at a time. Everyone deserves the opportunity to grow, heal, and live a meaningful, self-directed life.

Portrait of Jerry Kolpien

Certified Peer Support Specialist • Licensed SAC-IT • Recovery Coach

Jerry Kolpien is a dedicated recovery advocate with over 16 years of lived experience in recovery. His journey is a powerful testament to resilience and transformation, and he shares that message with individuals navigating substance use and mental health challenges.

As a Certified Peer Support Specialist, Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor in Training (SAC-IT), and Recovery Coach, Jerry brings authenticity, empathy, and unwavering support to his work. He connects with teens and adults through trauma-informed care, offering guidance rooted in both lived experience and professional training.

Through Know Peace, LLC, Jerry empowers individuals to pause, reflect, and embrace meaningful change. His work extends beyond direct service—he builds systems of support, collaborates with community programs, and advocates for recovery pathways that honor each person’s unique story.

Jerry believes recovery is not just about overcoming challenges, but about discovering strength, purpose, and hope. His mission is to walk alongside others as they reclaim their lives.

Jerry’s own journey—from trauma, addiction, incarceration, and homelessness to sustained recovery since 2009—fuels his passion for helping others. His approach is grounded in compassion and honesty, creating a safe space for clients to explore their paths without judgment, and reminding them that transformation is always possible.

Guided by the principle of “meet people where they are at, but don’t leave them there,” Jerry excels in connecting with individuals who feel stuck, misunderstood, or overwhelmed by life transitions. Through one-on-one coaching, recovery planning, and active listening, he empowers clients to take meaningful steps toward healing.

His work extends into jails, shelters, and community spaces, where he facilitates recovery meetings and reinforces the belief that recovery should be accessible to all. As a Licensed SAC-IT, Jerry continues to deepen his impact while staying rooted in the values of connection, respect, and hope. His presence is a living testament to the power of lived experience and the possibility of change.
